In 2020, My Crown My Glory, LLC Founder and CEO, LaSonda Carrizales, suffered extreme hair dryness and hair loss due to a Hysterectomy surgery. Hair loss is common with this surgery. It is caused by telogen effluvium (TE), a condition triggered by the stress that the surgery puts on your body and disruption to your normal hair follicle cycle. This usually occurs 6 to 12 weeks after the hysterectomy and can last 6 months or longer.

LaSonda experienced this for almost a year. With sensitive skin conditions, seborrheic dermatitis, and allergies such as Tree Nuts, she was unable to find a product that serviced her hair growth needs. She was referred to a Trichologist (A specialist who focuses on the diseases or problems related to the hair and scalp) and a Dermatologist (A doctor who specializes in problems on the skin, hair, and nails) to help with her skin and hair loss issues.  The products she used contained nut oils and she determined to create a product line that was tree nut and coconut free.
